The seven dimensions of TLI
Every province carries seven category scores plus one composite. The seven categories are independent: each measures a distinct dimension of livability, and the geometric-mean composite combines them so a single weak category cannot be hidden by strong ones.
Each category page shows its indicator roster, current weight in the composite, leader and laggard provinces by category score, and the distribution across all 77 provinces. For the composite math, see methodology.

Environment & Climate
Air quality, heat stress, flood exposure, water access, waste management, and natural buffers (forest cover, tree canopy, rainfall pattern). The category that surfaces whether daily life is affected by burning-season smoke, drought, or rain-saturated discomfort.

Healthcare
Capacity and access to medical care across the province. Surfaced through hospital-bed density, hospital count per capita, sub-district health-promotion hospital density, and the count of internationally accredited hospitals.

Mobility and digital connectivity across the province. Driving time to the nearest international airport and intercity rail station, fixed and mobile broadband speeds, public-transport access, and a walkability composite.

Provincial economic conditions surfaced through gross provincial product per capita and the year-on-year change in the provincial consumer price index. Industrial-concentration outliers along the Eastern Seaboard clip at the upper goalpost by design.

Public safety and conflict exposure across the province. Measured through ACLED-recorded conflict-event and fatality rates over a 5-year window plus road-traffic fatalities per 100,000 residents.

Cultural amenity, heritage density, and visitor activity. FAD-registered ancient monuments and TAT-registered tourist attractions provide the differentiating signal across all 77 provinces; UNESCO World Heritage inscription is retained as a display-only chip.

Demographics & Scale
Population distribution and age-structure pressure on the province. Population density is scored on a parabolic curve so that mid-range densities outscore both rural sparsity and urban claustrophobia; dependency ratio surfaces age-structure stress.
